Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American actor and musician. Her first release was humorous, cleverly written lyrics in rap that dealt with questions of racial identity and sexuality. Later, she broadened her audience to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical encounter. She was a trumpet player. Following her Jazz and classical training her interest in hip-hop grew when she was an teen. In her studies, she majored in journalism and women's studies at college, even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. It wasn't until she began focusing on music until the time she finished her studies. Following her viral success via the Internet the track My Vag was a reaction to the Mickey Avalon song My Dick. It eventually was included on the debut album Yellow Ranger. The album also contained were other viral hits including Queef (body-positive) and NYC Bitche$1. The latter track connected directly with another Awkwafina project NYC a travel guide published in the year 2015. A musician and author was on her resume she began looking for acting in a third project. Her film credits include films including Neighbors 2 Storks as well as Bad Rap. Her breakthrough came in 2018 with a few notable films like Dude Ocean's 8 as well as Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, in Fina We Trust in June of that year.
