Patricia Apollonia Kotero, an American actress and singer has been a model for a while. She is best known as the main character in the 1984 Prince Purple Rain film and lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6 The actor and singer christened Apollonia by Prince was one of a number of female musicians in the '80s that benefited from her connection with Prince, the Purple One. Patricia Kotero is a Californian actress, born in the city of Santa Monica, California in 1959. Her early career included acting as a model for television. In 1984, she was a part of the main actress in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period of time, he also changed her name.) She then replaced Vanity from the female trio Vanity 6 who starred in the film with Apollonia 6 under their name. Apollonia was the first artist to release her album in 1988, however it was a fairly pedestrian album of dance music and R&B that failed to attract the attention of the general people. The album quickly disappeared completely from the public's view. The singer was still active, though not under the spotlight, as an actor during the decade, albeit with minor roles in television and films. A workout DVD was released.
