
Leona Louise (born 3 April , 1986) is an British actor, singer active, activist, and actress. Born in the London Borough of Islington, she studied at The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in Croydon. Lewis became famous as she won the third series on The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1 million and Syco music. The song she was awarded and was a cover Kelly Clarkson's song "A Moment like This" that was released, received 50,000 downloads within 30 minutes, and hit the top position for 4 weeks. Clive Davis, Lewis's American record label J Records signed Lewis a 5-album deal in February 2007. Lewis kept her momentum going by releasing Spirit, her first studio album. The album was platinum 10x accredited in the UK. The album was the fourth most-sold album in 2000, and it was also one of the most popular UK albums. Spirit is, as per Official Charts Company is the highest-seller debut album by a female singer. "Bleeding Love", the lead single of Spirit, remained No. 1 for the UK for seven weeks. It was also one of the best-selling songs in the United Kingdom. In the US this was the best-selling single of 2008 . Lewis was named the best new Artist by Billboard in the same year. Echo is her second studio album. The album also featured the song "I Love You" in the movie Avatar. In 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" in collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii along with her first extended performance, Hurt: The EP. The third album she released, Glassheart (2012), was a departure in direction for Lewis and her music, drawing inspiration from dubstep and electronic music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began the process of recording for her first Christmas album. The Christmas, With Love was released in late 2013. The lead track, One More Sleep, peaked at number 3 within the UK. In the wake of this chart, Lewis became the first British female artist in the top five , with eight singles, surpassing Olivia Newton-John's record of seven.
